Cover/Editorial Design

Set the style and design this spooky book from cover to cover. This collection of real-life scary stories features haunting history, creepy cryptids, and more. The content required over 30 commissioned pieces of unique art ranging from creatures to legendary tales with limited reference material, and required a lot of creative direction and close work with the illustrator and author.  I focused on capturing the feel of the scary story experience through a dark saturated color scheme, grungy/moody background textures, layering image effects, and picking up graphic accents from the topics such as splatters and icons. It was a really fun book to design!
